1. Informed your family?

First of all, make sure your clost family and relatives know how to reach you, inform them about your move.

2. Informed your friends?

Your friends also need to know where you are. Make sure they are updated with your new address.

3. Informed your employer?

Make sure your employer knows your new address and phone number. Especially for your payslips and forms.

4. Informed your children's schools?

Make sure all your children's schools are informed with your updated contact details.

5. Informed your GP?

Make sure your GP knows your new address as all NHS information, appointments and sensitive information could end up in the wrong hands otherwise.

6. Informed your dentist?

Make sure your dentist has your new address too.

7. Informed your bank?

Tell your bank as soon as possible, once you have moved or your statements and details could go to the wrong address.

8. Applied for housing benefit?

Make sure you change any applications for housing benefit to reflect your new home.

9. Informed TV Licensing?

Make sure you update the address for your TV licensing.

10. Informed your store card companies?

Make sure you inform stores that you hold a store card for to continue to benefit from offers and discounts. Commonly, stores such as Matalan, Tesco, Iceland, Asda and similar stores have store cards.

You may wish to redirect your mail to your new home, or if you have a PO Box or business account, be sure to inform them of your new address.

Make sure your gas details are up to date and a meter reading has been taken for your new home as well as a final reading for your old home.

Be sure to take meter readings for your old home and new home and inform the electricity company as soon as possible to keep up to date with bills.

Be sure to arrange payment for water rates and to get a refund for any overpayments on your previous address.

Be sure to change the address on your telephone account and transfer your phone usage to the new address.

16. Informed mobile phone company?

Remember to change the address for your mobile phone contracts.

Inform your satellite or cable company of the change in address e.g. Sky, Virgin etc

18. Inform HMRC Tax Credits?

Be sure to inform HMRC to update the address for your tax credits as soon as you move.

Make sure that national insurance details are up to date, this may be possible through HMRC.

20. Informed Council Tax Office?

Make sure you inform the council tax office of the change in address and arrange payment for council tax.

Have you informed the job centre or anyone else that arrange benefits for you?

22. Updated log book?

Make sure any cars you own are updated with the new address on the logbook. This can be done online.

23. Updated Drivers licence?

Make sure you update the address on your drivers licence by informing DVLA as soon as possible.

24. Informed Optician?

Make sure you update the opticians with the new address also.

25. Updated subscriptions (e.g. Magazines)?

Update details for any subscriptions for magazines, newspapers etc to make sure they are delivered to the correct address.

Make sure professional bodies or societies you belong to are updated with your new address

Make sure you inform your breakdown service e.g. AA, RAC

There are 4 ways to use Happy Books To Do Lists.

  1. All to do lists by Happy Books can be viewed for free without any registration or details. However, objectives/steps cannot be ticked off nor progress recorded.
  2. A free temporary username can be created with only a name and an email address (optional) to receive alerts. This can be used on one computer only for 30 days, after which all progress and details will automatically be deleted. Happy Books will not retain any details.
  3. If you already have a Happy Books account or if you register for one free, you can store your to do list progress permanently and tick objectives for more than one name e.g. members of your family or staff, for free.
  4. If you purchase a subscription with a small fee, you can create your own private to do lists and add even more names to tick objectives for public and private lsits.

To use more than one user at a time, you must remain logged in. Users who wish to use a to do list without registering an account can tick off objectives for all lists for only 1 temporary name at a time.
