al-Wudu' - You must know how to perform the ritual ablution or purification from the lesser ceremonial impurity for your worship. Allah says,

“O you who believe! When you prepare for prayer, wash your faces, and your hands (and arms) to the elbows; Rub your heads (with water); and (wash) your feet to the ankles….” al-Qur’an, Surah al-Maa’idah, 5: 6

The small ritual impurity will be removed by making the appropriate Niyyah and then washing the face, then the arms down to and including the elbows, then wiping the head and then washing the feet up to and including the ankles, this is the minimum of the Wudu’ but there are further recommended (Mandoob) aspects to the Wudu’ from the Sunnah of the Prophet (saw) .
