al-Intifa' bil-Muharramaat - You must know not to benefit from what is forbidden. In the time of the Prophet (saw) when alcohol was prohibited, some of the hypocrites tried to use it for cooking food, as it would not have the same intoxicating effect, the Prophet (saw) said:

“Whatever Allah has prohibited a thing, it is prohibited to benefit from it or its outcome.” Sunan Abu Dawood v.4 p.207

The Prophet (saw) said,

“Verily if Allah has prohibited for people the consumption of a thing, He also has prohibited its sale.” Musnad Imam Ahmed
